NATO Summit 2024
July 2024
The NATO Summit is a regular event that brings together the Heads of State and Government for the North Atlantic Council. During this meeting, the Heads of State and other directors discuss strategic positioning and other topics around the alliance’s activities.
Given that there are multiple leaders of multiple nations attending the meeting, security is at an all time high. Law Enforcement agencies, event coordinators, and vendors coordinate to develop and deploy security measures to protect the attendees and high profile individuals.
This past year, ARX Perimeters was honored to be a vendor for the meeting providing our perimeter security solutions.
The Role of ARX Perimeters at the NATO Summit
ARX Perimeters provides perimeter security solutions for multiple types of organizations around the United States. Our flagship product, the ARX High Security Fence was the primary solution with over 20,000 ft deployed.
The ARX High Security Fence is designed and manufactured by our team as an anti-climb solution to prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
Other solutions deployed were dozens of vehicle barriers, multiple vehicle gates, and guard shacks.
Collaboration with Law Enforcement and Event Coordinators
During the planning phase of the event, vendors work with Law Enforcement personnel and event coordinators to establish a perimeter and access points to secure the restricted areas of the event.
Understanding what areas are restricted gives our team the necessary information to deploy the proper amount of anti-climb fencing and at what height. This also determines where and what size vehicle barriers will be deployed for vehicle access points.
This phase can take months and requires coordination from multiple organizations.
Ensuring Safety of Personnel and Attendees
The collaboration with law enforcement and the event coordinators is critical to ensure that the correct perimeter is set. Doing so ensures that we have put fencing in place to prevent unauthorized access from the external side of the fence and vehicle barriers to stop any possible hostile vehicle attacks.
Conclusion
The event from our perspective was a success given that there were no reports of unauthorized access from any individual. Personnel remained safe and event attendees were able to move throughout the conference with peace of mind.
The planning, preparation, and deployment of high security fencing and vehicle barriers at political conferences ensures that all parties have the tools they need to institute the protection necessary.
