The Pitagone F18 Mobile Vehicle Barriers are crash tested and certified under multiple third-party testing standards, such as PAS68:2003, IWA14-1, and ASTM. During the PAS68 and IWA14-1 crash test, the impact vehicle's engine was also fully disabled. 

In addition to these globally trusted industry standards, they are the only mobile vehicle barriers crash tested with the wheels on the barrier during impact, on the wet road surface, and a 45-degree offset attack. This gives Pitagone customers more confidence knowing the barriers have been tested in real-world conditions and realistic vehicle impact angles.

For the crash tested configuration to be achieved, it requires a total of 8 individual barriers connected together. The Pitagone Barriers can also be used to control incoming vehicle speeds when used as a traffic control device, such as setting up a serpentine or chicane with less than 8 barriers instead of using jersey barriers or concrete blocks.

With the example of a 24’ road, the Pitagone F18 barriers can be set up and fully deployed by 2 people in about 5-7 minutes. These barriers require no special tools to set up or move into position and are simply connected to each other with tethered pins that go through the cross braces, that is it! We designed these barriers to be very simple and straightforward.

The Pitagone F18 barriers are the only mobile vehicle barrier system to be crash tested with the wheels on the barriers. This is critically important when it comes to real world functionality and safety, as other barrier systems require a special jack to move them into position because they are heavy or have a separate moving system that attaches to the barriers.

When it comes to the perspective of the Fire Department and emergency vehicle access, one person can simply lean the barriers back and move it out of the way within seconds since the wheels are always attached. You do not have to search for the moving system, special jack or move them individually.

There are four types of storage options available. There is a 6-unit storage unit, 12-unit storage unit and two types of Barrier Trailer Kits. All of the storage racks are lockable and stackable for compact storage and can be lifted or moved with a pallet jack or forklift.

The Barrier Trailer Kit is a fully enclosed auto hauler trailer with the Pitagne F18 barriers pre-positioned into sections of 3 with multiple rows. This allows your town to store the barriers in a trailer more compactly and tow them into position to set up prior to the event.

One Barrier Trailer Kit offers 36 units of Pitagone F18 which covers about 72’ of coverage and the other Barrier Trailer Kit offers 52 units of Pitagone F18 which covers about 104’ of coverage.
