Mobile Wedge Barriers are a towable and rapid deployment crash rated barrier system that is commonly used at access control points, entry control points, secure facilities, sporting events and for road closures during special events. These barriers can also be used as a more permanent barrier and does not typically require any digging or preparation for installation, as it is completely surface mounted.

What size options are available for the Mobile Wedge Barriers?+
There are three sizes or clear openings that are available including 12’, 16’ and 20’ openings. These sizes are the width of the wedge plate where a vehicle can fit through, not the overall length of the barrier.
Depending on your facilities location, the size of the roads, types of vehicles entering your facility and the approach angle of vehicles to the barrier system are all taken into consideration when suggesting the appropriate size barrier.
How quickly can I deploy the Mobile Wedge Barriers?+
From the time the barrier is towed into the general location where the barrier will be utilized, you can have a fully functioning checkpoint or access control point within 15 to 20 minutes. They are designed to be a rapid deployment portable barrier system to quickly set up a checkpoint.
All of the tools, jacks and equipment necessary to deploy the barrier is all self-contained in the tool box.
How are the Mobile Wedge Barriers crash tested?+
The Mobile Wedge Barriers are certified to ASTM F2656 standards which is the standard test method for crash testing of vehicle security barriers. Test methods were originally published by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) using K-ratings, but they have been gradually replaced with American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) standards using M-ratings.
The barriers crash tests are performed with a 15,000 pound vehicle at 30mph, 40mph or 50mph. M30 equals a 30mph impact, M40 equals a 40mph impact and M50 equals a 50mph impact.
The Penetration Rating is the distance the vehicle was stopped after impact. When it comes to penetration ratings, P1 indicates the vehicle was stopped within 3.3 feet, P2 stopped the vehicle in the range of 3.31 feet to 23.0 feet and P3 stopped the vehicle between 23.1 feet and 98.4 feet.
